Research Overview

The Terry Fox Research Institute functions as the research arm of The Terry Fox Foundation. In this capacity, the Institute invests and manages approximately $35 million in combined funding for discovery and translational research and training for future scientists and clinicians in cancer research.

The discovery portfolio and pan-Canadian translational research projects are focused on moving discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic more quickly for the benefit of cancer patients. The Terry Fox Foundation has committed a minimum of $50 million over five years to TFRI for this purpose. In addition, TFRI manages the Foundation's annual research investment in biomedical, cure-oriented discovery research as well as its investment in research training programs.
